Secure Digital Assessments with QTI - demo

Over the last year we have been working very hard on our new and improved QTI Assessment Delivery Engine; version 3. With the previous versions we were more or less stuck to the QTI rendering and implemented a lot of custom developed code around it to get it working. Many of these features have been rewritten and implemented into the product's core of version 3, of course taking into account the IMS QTI conformance.

Just for those who are not too familiar with (digital) assessments: the Question Test Interoperability (QTI) is an world-wide Open Standard defining what assessments are comprised of. It defines the assessment's items (questions), and accompanying answers, scoring rules, tooling, etc. to eventually display the assessment. This can be either on paper or on the screen.  Trifork has developed a state-of-the-art assessment delivery engine, which is capable of delivering digital QTI-based assessments.

One of the key elements of our engine is the customisation and extensibility. Whether you want to use this within your own product, an integrated education environment, or to deliver high-stakes examinations, our product is suited to your situation. Using the latest technologies, you can be assured that the product scales from 300 to 300,000 users (and more) without hassle combining NoSQL solutions and advanced rendering techniques on the browser to relieve server-side environments.

Time to walk the talk, we have taken the QTI Reference Set coming straight out of the IMS Global association and put this into the new QTI Assessment Delivery Engine demo to prove the QTI compatibility. Within this demo you can:

  • Start an assessment;
  • Resume if you're not finished;
  • Review your answers with the correct ones;
  • Access the detailed specifications of the product.

If you are operating in a high-stakes environment, you might want to try out the demo in combination with our Secure Browser. We have made available a demo version of this product for Windows, which prevents the student to use anything else than the assessment environment. This client lock down application comes with a browser and is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. The Secure Browser is independent of Trifork’s QTI Assessment Delivery Engine.
